Happy First Birthday, Cara Noelle!

Beanie celebrated her first birthday on Thursday, June 17th! Since band camp was already in full swing by then Darren was unable to take the day off so the girls and I had to do our own celebrating.

Brynn and I had a little pre-celebration the evening before making Cara's birthday cake.

Every Thursday the little ladies and I get together with a bunch of my teacher friends and their kids and visit different parks in the area. I decided since Darren had to work the girls and I would still go and have a little precelebration. Pictured is just 4 of the 8 moms and their kids (the others were still playing on the equipment while we took a drink and snack break) that get together each Thursday. Jeanne Laing and her two cuties Luke and Megan, Laura Huspek and Sawyer (Olivia is not pictured), Carissa Woodruff and Matthew, and finally the girls and I.
We are all just so photogenic...I am shocked someone hasn't asked us to be on the cover of Parents magazine!

Sam and Emma go to Lynn's with Brynn. They are SUCH nice, sweet kids. Emma found a fuzzy caterpillar and was showing it to Brynnie.
After our morning at the park with the girls from work we headed home and met Melissa, Peyton, and Landon for lunch and some water fun.

Cara preferred her time next to the pool instead of in it-Brynn and Peyton were a little too splashy for the birthday girl.
Peyton thought it was fun to water Cara's feet with Brynn's watering can. Cara thought this was hilarious!

After naps Henry and Katie came over for just a bit because they just couldn't miss the birthday girl on her special day. Such a fun series of pictures. Cara just woke up from her nap shortly after they arrived and since it was her birthday I let her bring her Lovie down. Henry took one look at it and decided he wanted to be all over it.
"Are you really chewing on my Lovie?"
"Good idea, Henry. I guess we can share it!"
Cara's little pony that her dad picked out for her.
Again! I can't believe someone hasn't contacted me to set up a photo shoot! Nice sneak peak at the cake, Beaner!

Darren made up for missing most of Cara's birthday by bringing her home a beautiful boquet of gerbera daisies.
We had her favorite meal (so far) seasoned pork loin and sliced potatoes and carrots all grilled to perfection with a side of pitted cherries.
Followed by her first taste of cake--I even found a dairy free ice cream for her to try with her cake. She LOVED (who doesn't) the cake but was quite unsure of her ice cream.
She sure looks like a happy one year old!
And lastly, we opened presents before she headed to bed. What a great day for our one year old! Although we love her dearly we are more than ready to put her first year behind us and move on to bigger and better (basically more sleep for everyone) things!
