How could you...

...not love this face?

Cara's looking pretty sparce on top...she's almost shedding more than the dogs!

Tiger Pride

What would Homecoming be without a couple of cute little fans!?!

Ouch Update

Brynn's arm is as good as new! We took her in to her pediatrician on Monday (she hurt it on Sunday) because she still wasn't using it. The doctor looked at the x-ray and said she doesn't have a broken bone, but she does have a dislocated elbow! Poor girl. That sure would have been nice to know when we were at the doctor on Sunday. Oh well, it got me a day off of work!
Brynn's arm works well enough to rub lotion on Auntie Katie's belly!

Ouch!

It happened again...poor little Brynners hurt the same wrist she hurt last winter. This time she was choosing not to go with her dad to get "dundies" on. They both pulled the opposite direction and Brynn immediately began crying. I wasn't sure if she was over tired or if she really hurt herself so we waited until after her nap before we decided to take her in. It was very apparent after her nap that something was wrong. She had x-rays done and no visible break was noted, but the doctor prefaced it with he "was a family doctor, not a radiologist and that two year old bones are not fully formed" so there could be more going on in the x-ray that he couldn't read. He put a splint on Brynn and sent her x-rays to the radiologist to be read and also said he would like her seen by her pediatrician in the morning. Although the splint seems to be helping she is still quite uncomfortable. Tonight she wanted to sleep in her clothes so she didn't have to take her shirt off. Poor, sweet thing!

She did get to watch a little Dora the Explorer (those of you that know me know how much I hate Dora so you know she was in quite a bit of pain for me to let her watch t.v.) tonight and man was she in heaven!

Perfect Night

Friday night was the perfect night for a bonfire so after dinner we all headed out and enjoyed one last night by the fire before it gets too cold.

Cara Bean loved watching the flames. She even outlasted Brynn!
Bonfires really aren't complete without a can of Mc Golden Light, right Brynn?
I am going to pretend that Brynn isn't picking her nose here. It's the best picture we could get of the four of them.
Mommy and her girls...and Ollie!

Squirrels

Mid-afternoon on Saturday I heard a bunch of racket coming from the backyard--it sounded like some birds fighting...or something really strange. It wasn't until a couple hours later that I noticed the neighbor's dog staring into our yard from the other side of the fence that I thought I better investigate. I found three tiny baby squirrls that had fallen from their nest in the tree. I called Bill's Wildlife Rescue and they informed me the mom should return (usually within two hours) unless she intentionally pushed them out of the nest. By early evening they still hadn't been rescued by their mom so I convinced Darren (it took a lot of coaxing) that we should put them in a box in our garage just for the night and return then under the tree in the morning. I was in the process of making up a box with a heating pad and some old t-shirts of Darren's when the mom returned and started making a lot of noise when she noticed her babies were missing. She then came running down the tree and proceded to scoop each one up individually and brought it back to the nest. I was very relieved. I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with three squirrels if the mom hadn't shown up...we can barely take care of 2 kids and two dogs. I can't imagine how crazy life would be if we had to care for three baby squirrels too!

Mmm, Mmm Good

There's nothin' like sucking on an entire fist during tummy time! It kind of defeats the purpose of tummy time when you do not lift your head from the blanket because you are so content sucking.

God Bless Cara Noelle

Cara was baptized on Sunday, September 13. She did fantastic through the whole thing. After baptism we had a small gathering at our house. It was a great day of good food (thanks, Grandmas for bringing a dish to pass) and family.

The baptismal dress that was also worn by Brynners. Grandma Connie made it with material from the shawl of my wedding dress.

Brynners missed her nap due to a 1:00 baptism. It was really apparent in this picture, but after she had a huge piece of cake with LOTS of frosting she came right back to life!

A Must Have

We purchased a new chair that sits right in the bathtub so we can bathe Cara along with Brynn. It is an absolute must have for anyone with an infant and a toddler. Cara loves the water so this way she can take a much longer bath without breaking my back in the process!!

Zonked

This is what Cara does everyday after returning home from Lynn's. All that action sure wears a little girl out! Part of me is really sad that the only time we get to spend with her during the week is when she is sleeping...and the other part of me really appreciates the fact that we can get dinner ready with only one girl hanging on us!

Baby Stroller

The girls and I took the dogs for a long walk this afternoon. After we returned Brynnie thought it would be a great idea to put Cara in her baby stroller and take her for a little stroll. Surprisingly Cara loved it, and Brynn was pretty proud of herself!

Look at those baby blues!

Aubrey Makes 4!

Aubrey Mae Mullenbach was born on Monday, August 31 weighing just 5 pounds and 2 ounces and 18 inches long. She is a peanut in every sense of the word!! Congratulations, Derek and Carmen, on your sweet baby girl!

Getting a good picture of 4 kids under the age of 2 is impossible!

Brave

Brynn's park skills have come a long way this summer. I am amazed at how brave she can be with a little encouragement!

Chatter Box

I think little Ms. Cara Bean is going to be a chatter box just like her big sister!

Three Adorable Girls

Cara Noelle (10 weeks), Brynn Tressa (2 1/2), and Claire Elizabeth (7 months)

First Bath Together

The night before we left for the cabin we all, dogs included, went for a long walk. It was getting late so we decided to throw both girls in the bath together. Cara loved it!!

Thighs that make mine look good!!
Cheese!
Brynn was oh so helpful washing Cara up.

Two sweet, happy girls!!

A REAL Cabin

Last weekend my family (Grandma and Grandpa Mullenbach; Uncle Dylan, Aunt Angie, and cousin Nolan; Aunt Katie and Uncle Tom; and Darren, Brynn, Cara, and I) rented a cabin in Nisswa, MN. Although Friday and Saturday were a little on the chilly side we didn't let it bother us.

Cara loved looking in the clear water at schools of fish swimming all around.
Nolan is such a little ham!

Brynn's first fish she caught. We thought about mouting it, but thought it would cost too much because it was so big!!

Uncle Dylan even let Brynn drive his boat!
Cheese!
Tommy took Brynners on a kayak ride.
It doesn't get any cuter than this!!
Brynn didn't get the memo that this wasn't a nudest colony.

Brynn and Nolan took their first bath together at the cabin.
