New Tricks

Cara Bean learned a couple new tricks this week!

Can you tell Brynn is trying to seek attention in the background? She sure doesn't like when her sister steals her spotlight!

BIG DAY!!

This morning I walked into Cara's room to get her up and found her sitting up in her crib! Today was the first day of this. I told Darren we better move her mattress down before she figures out how to pull herself up on the side. Lynn called early this morning and said she was up most of the night with the stomach flu so I stayed home with the girls. I put Cara down for her morning nap and heard her talking and playing on an off for about 40 minutes. I thought I better go check on her and this is what I found! Little Stinker!!
She figured out how to pull herself up on her crib!
Then, I noticed she was moving from place to place rather quickly today and thought, "Man that girl is getting good at rolling!." Nope, she's not rolling--SHE'S CRAWLING. What a big day for this little one!! I am so glad Lynn had the stomach flu so I could witness it!!

Sorry about the shotty camera work. Apparently I need a tripod!

Budding Photographer

Brynnie has become quite the photographer lately. Sometimes she even captures what she is wants to. Maybe she'll choose to be a photographer instead of a bus driver. We can only hope...

Party at the Mullenbachs

We have been trying to do a monthly outing with Dylan, Angie, and cousin Nolan for quite some time. We finally made it a reality last weekend. We all had so much fun we can't wait to do it again.
Angie made a special trip to Wal-Mart to pick up playdough for Brynn and NoNo. Nolan loved to roll his into a ball and throw it (he sure does love his BALLS), Brynners loved rolling hers out and making shapes.
Kristen, Graham, Ella, and baby Logan stopped by to play, have dinner, and drink some beer with us. It was so fun getting all the kids together.

Good luck getting a good picture of all 5 kids! This was the best I could do!!

President's Day

We didn't have school on President's Day so the girls and I headed to the Maplewood Community Center for a date with Jenny Paul and Claire Bear. Cara loves the bathtub so I was anxious to see how she would do in the water. She LOVED it!! I can't wait until summer when we can swim in the warm SUNSHINE!
The girls patiently waiting to get in the water.
Cara wasn't very happy to be posing for a picture. I think she was a little embarrassed to be wearing a skin tight bathing suit in public--a new one has been purchased for our next water outing.

A quick milk break before heading back into the water.

Brynn could have been mistaken for a fish! All the other moms with kids around Brynn's age commented on how good she is in the water. Those swimming lessons sure are paying off!!

Valentine's Day

The girls had a great Valentine's Day. They were showered with cards and some gifts throughout the week.

Two Adorable Girls!!

Daddy bought his three girls each a red rose. Valentine's Day will continue to be quite a spendy holiday for Darren as he will go broke buying for his "three favorite girls."

In addition to the roses, the girls each got a tie blanket and two books from us. Brynn was quite tickled with her monkey blanket...Cara has yet to use hers.

Happy Birthday, Ollie!

Ollie celebrated his FIFTH birthday on February 9th. The girls were very helpful getting his cupcakes ready. Brynn put in all the liners...and Cara took them all out for her. Soon after this picture was taken Brynn moved the pan to the other side of her so Cara couldn't get at it.

Happy Birthday, Big Boy--We love you!!

Lounge Chair

My dad sure makes a good lounge chair!

How Cute Are We?

Buns...

...don't get any cuter than this!

Dad's Fishing Trip

I may give Darren a lot of crap about his annual fishing trip he goes on with the boys, but to be honest I really look forward to it...I just have to make him feel bad about leaving his wife, two daughters, and two dogs at home alone:) Honestly, I can hardly say alone. We had a fabulous 5 days without Darren around. On Friday night Aunt Tonja, and my cousins Claire and Carli, and Grandma Debbie came for a visit.
Carli was like the dog whisperer and had Ollie and Colby as relaxed as I've seen them since we've had Brynn. I think they were just appreciative that they were petted for longer than it takes me to pee (Ollie insists on coming in the bathroom with me-I think he knows it's the only time I have an opportunity to give him a little scratch on the head). She can come back and entertain them any time she wants!
It's pajama time!!
Lunch with the ladies...and Henry
Claire was so good with Cara. I REALLY wish they lived a bit closer (like next door) so I could call her on a dime and have her entertain Cara while I attempted to get things done--maybe I'd actually get a few things done...
Carli was a fabulous playmate for Brynners. She would do just about anything Brynn asked her. She even acted like she enjoyed it too!
Cara enjoyed trying her sea legs out on land. This was just the beginning of her wanting to stand/walk. A month later now it is ALL she wants to do. My back and knees are ready to give out, but that face is just too sweet to say no to.

Jenny Paul and Claire met us at Underwater World at the MOA. Luckily Jen and I are both teachers. That place is outrageously expensive, but we were able to get in free with our school badges.
All three girls loved looking at all the different fish. Too bad it only takes 10 minutes to go from end to end.
Cara and Mommy posing by the giant turtle.
Cara Bean on her first carousel ride. She LOVED it.

Brynn Tressa on her second carousel ride. Her first was when she was 10 months old and she was not a fan at all. Darren and I tried to get her to go on again last summer at the Como Zoo but she would have nothing to do with it. This time she giggled the whole way...all three rides.
