Warrior Dash

Last November, at Landon's birthday party...after several drinks, the Eckhoffs and Darren and me signed ourselves up for the Warrior Dash to be held in late June.  As the time quickly passed Jeremy and I  both realized we were not nearly ready to run up a ski hill.  However, Melissa is super fit and once Darren puts his mind to something he is quite successful.  So...Jeremy and I cheered Melissa and Darren on (from the beer tent) while the two of them ran up the ski hill.
 Clearly the BEFORE pictures!
Melissa made t-shirts for she and Darren that said "Team Asleshoff."  I was super bummed that I didn't get one since I didn't compete :(
 Starting the race...
and the finish.  After seeing how dirty they got I was REALLY glad I chose to stay in the beer tent with Jeremy!

Lebanon Hills Beach

As mentioned in the previous post, any time Darren has a free monent I keep him busy.  This Saturday morning we spent at Lebanon Hills Beach.  Darren and the girls had so much fun swimming and building sand castles...and I had so much fun watching them!

Look at the castles with the moat around them Brynn built.  She and Cara (off and on) worked on it for well over an hour!

Mini Golfing and Ice Cream

Between 5th grade band, marching band, and the classes Darren's taking this summer we have not seen much of him this summer (honestly we have not seen much of him since last July when he started the administration program).  He probably resents me for it, but any time (which is maybe once a month) that he has a spare moment or two I plan something for all of us to do.  This particular evening (the same evening as the preschool 4th of July celebration) we went mini golfing to check out the place before I sent Darren and the girls with the gift certificate we got him for Father's Day-I just had to make sure Cara would cooperate before I sent the 3 of them on their own :)  Turns out they did very well and really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to some time to do what I want to do when I send them golfing on their own!

 So proud!

After golfing we stopped at the ice cream parlor to get a sweet treat.  Darren, Brynn and I all had peppermint bon bon ice cream and Cara had a plain cone :)

Small Wonders

Brynn attended Small Wonders preschool for the first time last summer and loved it.  Kids need to be at least 3 years of age and potty trained to attend, so that meant Cara could attend this year.  I only signed her up for one class (taken with Brynn so she could keep an eye on her) on June 28 which was Fourth of July related.  Miss Sandy and Miss Sara were their teachers.  They were so excited to see Brynn on their roster again this year and even more excited to see Brynn's sister (whom they remembered from last year) on the roster.  The girls has so much fun!  Cara did exceptionally well making me feel terrible for not signing her up for more classes.  Oh well, Cara and I got to spend some great one-on-one time (which we rarely get) while Brynn attended 3 different classes each 3 days in a row for 2 hours at a time-Art Explosion, Kids in the Kitchen, and Passport to Paradise.
