One Of My Favorite Things

Reading books to my girls...and Ollie.

We love Henry!

Since Tommy, Henry's Dad, works out of the state during the week we have a weekly date with Henry and Auntie Key. We love that they live so close so we are able to watch Henry grow!
Darren looks pretty good with two babies in his arms. Maybe twins are in our future! Oh boy wouldn't that be a treat?!?

Henry wasn't too excited it was photo shoot time because...

...he was ready for a little of this.

FINALLY

It was FINALLY warm enough last week to go out and play in the snow. Cara absolutely loved it. I really think she appreciates doing anything other than sitting on the floor entertaining herself. Poor second child!
We invited our neighbor's dog, Marley, over to play too. Colby (surprisingly) sat in the snow by Cara to make sure she didn't get trampled by Ollie and Marley chasing each other.

It's quite tricky pulling two sleds in drifts that are over three feet deep! The girls sure loved it even though we putted along!

God Bless Henry Dennis

Henry Dennis was baptized on January 17, 2010. Darren and I were lucky enough to be chosen for this sweet little guy's Godparents. Unfortunately, we didn't get a picture of the three of us together (on my camera) so the best I can do is the one in his carseat.

Sweet little Henry
Uncle Derek, Carmen and baby Aubrey stayed with us the night before Henry's baptism. I tried to get a good picture of the girls on Sunday morning, but this was the best I could do. Apparently Aubrey's hair kept getting in Brynn's face so she wouldn't lift her head up!

Swimming Class

Brynnie started "swimming class" two weeks ago. To both Darren and my surprise she has had a really hard time following Miss Bre's directions. I think (and really hope) she is so excited to be in the water she just doesn't hear the directions!

Waiting with her yellow token to start class.

'Popcorn kicks' across the steps.

Cara loves to go to swimming class too. She had been happy with watching all the excitement, but last week I set her on the edge of the steps to dip her feet in the water--she LOVED it. I think we need to get her signed up for a Mommy/Daddy and me class! I have a feeling she is going to love the water just like her big sister.

Zoo

Last Sunday the girls and I spent the morning at the zoo so Darren could get some much needed rest without being woken up by two squealing girls.

Brynn was pretty tickled that I let her bring her baby and stroller. Just an FYI, if you bring a baby and a stroller and leave it unattended for even a second it will be swept up by any other little girl-multiple times!
When did those legs get so long?

Cara loved the trip to the zoo. She was very curious about all the exhibits, but especially loved the underwater fish tank.

Play Date with Miranda

Last weekend Brynn had a play date scheduled at our house with her friend Miranda from daycare. We forgot Cara had pictures scheduled for that morning so Brynn went to Miranda's house. She had so much fun with her "good buddy, Miranda" we'll definitely do it again soon!

New Year's Eve

We have been spending New Year's Eve with the Eckhoffs since 2002. Most often we drink WAY too much and are really hung over the next day. Due to 4 little reasons New Year's has taken on a whole different meaning.
On New Year's 2009 we
helped Mom and Dad prepare a delicious meal,
crawled through Brynn's tent/tunnel,
wore a tutu for the first time,
gnawed on an apple peal,
had dinner for two,
tried out the sleeping arrangements,
posed for the camera,
did some jumping on the bed,
posed for some more pictures,

and finally, read some books before the Eckhoffs had to head out the next morning. It's always a good time when we get together with the Eckhoffs!

Love

Say no more!

Brynners "reading" (she has the entire book memorized-and many others) Dear Zoo to Cara. How sweet!

Santa Comes!

The girls were very good this year so Santa Claus was able to make a stop at our house. He brought Brynn a tent with a tunnel. She even convinced me to sleep with her in it over Christmas break. Cara received a little kitchen that I know she will love as soon as she starts moving around.

Christmas 2009

We had a fantastic Christmas 2009. The girls were spoiled rotten! The festivities began the Saturday before Christmas at Auntie Key's house.

Cara enjoyed a raw carrot to gnaw on while we cleaned up from dinner.
"I can't wait to open up my very first present!"
Uncle Dylan, Aunt Angie, and cousin Nolan gave Brynners dress up clothes. She absolutely LOVES them. I'm not so sure who had more fun. Brynners getting dressed or Uncle Dylan helping her. He sure knows how to make a girl look good!!

Brynn next to the pillow Grandma Debbie gave her. She had been waiting all month for the snowflake to make it to the last pocket. Finally it arrived!
We read How the Grinch Stole Christmas on Christmas Eve and then sprinkled "grinch dust" on our front steps to assure that the grinch would not steal our Christmas. Brynn seemed pretty worried while we read the story, but seemed pretty satisfied when we sprinkled the dust.

Ufda, that's a lot of presents!
Brynn's favorite gift was given to her by Cara. A new baby for the tub! She just had to try it out the very next morning!!
Five generation. Great-great Grandma Helen, Great Grandma Theresa, Grandma Debbie, me, and Cara Noelle
Santa stopped by Aunt Tammy's house and Brynn couldn't wait to get her present AND sit on his lap!

Grandpa, Brynn and No No had to try out Grandma's cookies. Grandpa and Brynn even had cups that said 'Big Dipper' and 'Little Dipper'
