Fall Fun!

This fall we hit up couple different apple orchards...a couple different times.

We even hit up Farmer Dan's at just the right time to feed the calves.

They were so sweet!

After picking lots of apples we came home and make a batch of crock pot apple sauce. So easy, and SO yummy!

Minnesota Twins!

For the second year in a row we hit up a Twins game over Labor Day weekend. We sure love ourselves some Minnesota Twins! The girls did awesome through the game...Cara even snuck in a nap!

Man, we have a couple cuties!

The girls even got to run the bases after the game was over.

Super fun day!

Can you believe it? Brynn Tressa started kindergarten in the fall! Even now, when I am listening to her read, watching her do her do her homework, or reading one of the stories she wrote at school I am so in awe of what a fabulous little girl we have. She has embraced every single part of kindergarten and made us proud beyond belief.

I was so, so bummed at the start of the school year...I have always envisioned taking her to school on the first day, dropping her off at her classroom door, giving her a big "have a great day hug," and picking her up at the end of the day. I didn't get to do any of these :(

My new position at the middle school this year means I have to be at work at 7:15 with a room full of students shortly there after and Brynn's school starts at 8. There was absolutely no way around it. So, we got up extra early, put on the crisp dress that she picked out the night before, did her hair just as she asked, brushed teeth and washed her face, then ate her favorite breakfast: an Egg McEckhoff. Before I left at 7 I was able to snap a few pictures of her at the front door then left her with Darren and I walked out the door crying. Darren said she had absolutely no reservations about heading off to kindergarten!

I sent the camera with Darren so don't mind the angles of the pictures:)

I was able, however, to sneak out of work just in time to see Brynn get off the bus on her first day. As I pulled up to Lynn's house I found Brynn's welcoming committee on the front lawn.

These are just the sweetest pictures! They sure do love each other!

Cragun's 2012

The summer went out with a bang with our 3rd annual Aslehoff vacation! Honestly, it's what I look forward to most all year long. Awesome friends, great food, amazing kids, and a relaxing vacation just before school starts. It doesn't get any better than that! It has taken me forever to go through the hundreds of photos and decide which ones were blog worthy...PLENTY were!

These 4 are the best of friends when we get together. I can't wait to see how their friendships continue to grow as they do. The picture was taken just as we arrived at Cragun's...the adults were unpacking (and sipping on cold beverages) while the kids snacked on apples.

The dads and the kids spent many an evening out (and morning...and afternoon) on the dock.

Cara was such a little fisherman...she was the one out there the longest insisting whoever was with her to, "watch your bobber."

Grandpa Bill and Grandma DelRae met up with us for a day and kept the kids very well entertained. Grandpa Bill can do some amazing things with sand and all the kids were so into it!

I make sandcastles (from a formed bucket) in the sand...Grandpa Bill makes alligators and starfish!

After watching Brynn jump off the dock and seeing how fun it looked Cara thought she better give it a try. Just like last year she was not at all impressed. I love the next series of photos.

I am pretty sure her legs came in to contact with sea weed.

HEAVEN FORBID!

Nor could Landon.

Notice Cara thinking she would give it another try from a different angle? Her legs touched the sea weed here too so Darren had to "save" her since it was quite a ways from shore.

Just like Cara, Peyton was not at all thrilled with the sea weed, but enjoyed plenty of time spent on the beach.

All's I can say about this is, "WOOT, WOOT!" Maybe I had a little too much to drink this night, but the birthday cake ice cream was soooo yummy!

Landon, Brynn, and Peyton thought the ice cream was fantastic. Cara said the cone was yummy ;)

Brynn was not into driving around the lake on the pontoon, however, she LOVED jumping off the pontoon in the water. She must have jumped at least 100 times!

I am not a fan of being wet or cold...it took a lot of convincing on Brynn's part to have me jump in with her. It was soooo much FUN! I can't wait to do it again this year.
