Dakota County Fair

One of the last Thursdays of the summer we met our walking group at the Dakota County Fair, right here in Farmington. It just so happened to be the hottest day of the week and most likely the summer, so no we didn't go swimming before going to the fair--that's just the sweat dripping off the kids' faces! Despite the heat we managed to have a pretty good time.

Brynn and some of her buddies. Abbie, Miranda, Brynnie, and Olivia. Abbie was born in late December, Brynn and Olivia were born in March (just a day apart) and Miranda was born in May. Needless to say they are pretty stinkin' cute when they all get together. All four girls started dance this past Wednesday--boy is that recital going to be cute!

Brynn, Miranda, and Olivia

Darren had taken Brynn's carseat out of my car and had it in his truck then went to Treasure Island to work without remembering to take it out. We didn't realize this until we were heading out the door to meet our friends. Thankfully, we were only driving in town that day and not far so Brynn was able to sit in the big seat with a seat belt--boy did she think she was one cool chick!

Olmsted County Fair

The Eckhoffs invited us to Rochester to attend the Olmsted County Fair. We decided to get the big kids unlimited ride wristbands--it turned out it was a very good idea. I think we came out ahead!
The evening started off with a romantic stroll through the swine barn,
after LOTS of rides the kids (well more the dads, but the kids agreed it was a pretty good idea) went on pony rides,

before the night ended we all went on the Ferris Wheel-Cara LOVED it,

Darren, not so much. After we (Melissa and I) bought all the tickets and were on the ride Darren said, "So this probably isn't a good time to remind you I'm afraid of heights, is it?) Oops, we don't really go on anything high together so I forgot this little tidbit of information. Notice the death grip on Brynn--his other hand was white knuckled on the pole in the center of the ride.

Before we left Cara had a plain cone,
and Darren and Brynn shared a shake.
It was a perfect night at the county fair! Thanks, Eckhoffs for the impromptu invitation!

Picnic and Mowing

After a busy lunch with her baby and puppy...
Brynn had to get to work mowing the lawn. If only I had the video camera going--Brynn was yelling at Darren letting him know he didn't have to mow that part because she already did. She is WAY too cute!

Visit From Nolan...and Uncle Dylan

Uncle Dylan and Nolan came for a visit in early August. After we spent the day together we decided we should have done that much sooner than August! Nolan is such a character--we loved having him over to play.

Nolan was able to try out Brynn and Cara's swingset--approved!
Brynn was able to try out Nolan t-ball set. BTW, Nolan puts Brynnie to shame in the baseball department. That boy has skills he doesn't know what to do with. I predict he'll be the next Joe Mauer!

Nolan and Brynn took turns tooling around the yard in Brynn's Barbie (yes, Barbie--I know what you're thinking...I can't believe Jen let/got Brynnie a Barbie jeep. Well it was free from our neighbor's daughter who outgrew it) jeep.

While the big kids went on a jeep ride, HD tried out Brynn and Cara's wagon.

Auntie Key brought over boxed brownies--I love that having a kid has brought reality into Katie's life. Although they were boxed we didn't have a hard time taking them down.

Nolan and Brynn put on a "talent" show with the harmonica and guitar.

Dylan and I were able to feed our (BIG) babies.
Here's the best of 10 pictures taken!

Lastly, Nolan was able to help me feed the dogs. Dylan and Ang--we'd be willing to strike a (FREE, FREE, FREE) deal on a pure bred lab. You just let us know when you're ready!
